Hyperbaric Oxygen

Hyperbaric Oxygen is a treatment modality which places a person in a specialized chamber to dramatically increase oxygen levels in the blood.  It is a well proven treatment to help heal chronic wounds.  It is also used to treat radiation injury, burn wounds, diving sickness, and a form of hearing loss, among others.  We have the largest and most modern Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Center in New York State.  6 top of the line HBOT chambers, and one of the top wound care surgeons in New York.

Largest Hyperbaric Center in Manhattan

Nearly 4000 square feet of space with six of the most advanced monotherapy hyperbaric units available.  “There has never been anything like it in the city,” says the Medical Director, Matthew R. Brackman, MD, FACS.  “Private changing areas, dedicated technicians, a peaceful welcoming environment.  All of these luxuries assure the ultimate healing experience.”

Indications for hyperbaric oxygen are expanding, as more and more medical research is reported.  Long-COVID and stroke are two of the most promising indications for the treatment, adding to the list of well accepted indications like recalcitrant wounds, osteomyelitis, radiation injury, and carbon monoxide poisoning.  Hyperbaric oxygen has long been shown to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood as much as five-fold.  This can lead to a host of healing benefits to tissues deprived of oxygen due to inflammation, ischemia, or toxicity.  Downsides are minimal, especially when performed by experts.  Dr. Brackman is certified in Hyperbaric Medicine, in addition to his surgical credentials, and his team of engineers includes some of the giants in the field.
